چکیده
Objectives: The Anti-Freaze-F trial will assess the feasibility of conducting a large randomised controlled to whether intra-articular injection anti-TNF (adalimumab) can reduce pain and improve function in people with predominant early stage frozen shoulder. Methods analysis: We are multi-centre, study, an embedded qualitative sub-study. recruit adults ≥18 years new episode shoulder attributable shoulder, recruited from at least five UK NHS musculoskeletal related physiotherapy services. Participants (n=84) be (centralised computer generated 1:1 allocation) receive either: 1) (adalimumab 160mg) or 2) placebo (saline [0.9% sodium chloride]), both under ultrasound guidance. A second allocated treatment 80mg) equivalent volume administered 2-3 weeks later. All participants advice leaflet providing education about management. primary objectives are: ability screen identify potential shoulder; willingness eligible consent intervention; 3) practicalities delivering intervention, including time first number receiving injection; 4) standard deviation Shoulder Pain Disability Index (SPADI) score attrition rate 3 months baseline order estimate sample size for definitive trial. also follow up rates viability patient-reported outcome measures range motion Research Ethics Committee approval (REC 21/NE/0214). Trial registration number: ISRCTN 27075727; EudraCT number: 2021-003509-23; ClinicalTrials.gov NCT05299242.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Study protocol: A multi-centre, double blind, randomised, placebo-controlled, parallel group, phase II trial (RIDD) to determine the efficacy of intra-nodular injection of anti-TNF to control disease progression in early Dupuytren’s disease, with
Dupuytren’s disease is a common fibrotic condition of the hand affecting 4% of the population and causes the fingers to curl irreversibly into the palm. It has a strong familial tendency, there is no approved treatment for early stage disease, and patients with established digital contractures are most commonly treated by surgery. This is associated with prolonged recovery, and less invasive te...
متن کاملINJECTION OF BOTULINUM TOXIN IN THE TREATMENT OF ACHALASIA: A RANDOMIZED, DOUBLE BLIND, CONTROLLED CLINICAL TRIAL
Our aim was to evaluate the short and long term efficacy of botulinum toxin therapy in Iranian patients with achalasia. In a randomized, double blind trial, 20 patients with achalasia, referring to Imam Khomeini Hospital, received either 80 units of botulinum toxin (BT) or placebo (PL) from 1995 to 1998. Two weeks later, the response to treatment was assessed on the basis of changes in the...
متن کاملPhase III, multi-centre, randomised, double blind, Placebo-controlled study for treatment of juvenile ankylosing spondylitis (AS) with Adalimumab
Results 17 patients were randomized to receive ADA 40mg/ 2wks and 15 patients received placebo. Stable doses of NSAIDs and low dose of corticosteroids (≤10 mg per day) were permitted. In the ADA group a decrease of all disease activity parameters was noted at wk 12: BASDAI spinal inflammation score -66% (p<0.001); back pain score -48% (p<0.005); BASFI score -47 % (p<0.02); CHAQ-DI score -65% (p...

Introduction: Higher levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in schizophrenia have suggested that dysfunctions of the immune system may play a role in this disabling condition. The current study was performed to discover if low dose celecoxib combined with clozapine may improve symptoms of schizophrenia or not. Methods:<span...
